I found this guy on a tree. He must have been a hold over from last fall. The lighting was not good, so I scooped him up in a leaf and put him on some moss on a log and voila!!

She was hunting something on the ground in the brush. I was able to sneak up on her and poke my lens through the brush. She was quite aware I was there, but it didn’t phase her. After a bit she flew up and away. Such a beautiful hawk with a damaged feather pattern.

The male Harrier Hawk is the light colored one on the right at the top. From what I have learned, he often has two lady friends at a time. Oh those boys!!
