It was pouring rain in Valley Forge yesterday as I was driving along the interline road within the park. There atop the giant revolutionary statue of two Eagles was the little kestrel perched with perfect symmetry with the Eagle’s wing. Oh such a thrill!!

I was walking in the field below Washington’s Chapel in Valley Forge when this little beauty jumped up in front of me. He had been hiding in the tall brush. He ran away, but soon stopped and just stared at me through the weeds. Such a thrill.

It’s the “Birthing Season” in Tanzania!! I am leaving tomorrow for a few weeks in the Serengeti with the great Todd Gustafson and other photographer friends. Hopefully will come back with a few babies to post on this site. See you in February.
