In about five hours Yumiko and I will go by taxi to the Shinganji Temple in Tokyo where we will have a private ceremony to bury the second half of Ken’s ashes. In attendance will be Ken’s sister Takae San and her immediate family and Ken’s sister-in-law Sumiko Kono and her immediate family. I…

It’s New Year’s Day here in St. Davids and there is so much to be thankful for. If I can brag again, my baby girl, Yumiko is all grown up and just finished New York University a semester early cum laude and I am so darn proud of her! And I know her Dad…

It is Easter Weekend and Yumiko came home from New York to celebrate. A few months ago we ordered a bench to be placed at Ken’s grave site in Valley Forge. It was recently installed and Yumiko, Barb Reid (Ken’s first wife and dear friend) and I went to visit. We planted three hyacinth…

Ken’s chorus group got together yesterday at our house for a wonderful good bye send off to their long time conductor Hayashi San and his wonderful wife Rumiko San. They are headed back to Tokyo after about 30 years here in the United States. They will be sorely missed.
