Spring is just around the corner, even though the calendar says it’s already here. The birds are just beginning to arrive. Saw a few Eastern Phoebe in the woods in Valley Forge today and they are the first to arrive. Cardinals were abundant. Waiting for the American Toads.

Got up early and out to Valley Forge and met my friend Alison and we found a bunch of good stuff. Here you go: Cooper’s hawk American Tree Sparrow Next Year’s Christmas Card Valley Forge in the Snow

I didn’t get out today until about noon, but still it was so darn good. I walked the trail in the woods off of Ship Road to the end. First I found the damselfly, then the wood frog, then the wrens discussing life, then the cardinal grabbing a berry, and finally a whole slew…

Getting ready for the wedding tomorrow!! Valentine’s Day. Yikes!!!

I only had a little battery life left on my way home yesterday, but stopped anyway at Eastern College Pond and was blessed by a beautiful cardinal who posed in the woods. Thanking my lucky stars for this little beauty.
