This beautiful male Northern Harrier had just sat down to digest his breakfast when I came upon him in the field across from Washington Chapel in Valley Forge yesterday. She was hunting something on the ground in the brush. I was able to sneak up on her and poke my lens through the brush. She was quite aware I was there, but it didn’t phase her. After a bit she flew up and away. Such a beautiful hawk with a damaged feather pattern.
