Hi, I’m Kitty Kono!

I was born on a dairy farm in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, where my love of nature first began. I pursued my education at Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia, studying psychology, which may explain how I observe and capture wildlife behavior today. My professional life led me to a thirty-year career with ASTM International. I retired early and have since dedicated my time to my true passion: photographing wildlife.   I have been going outside to take pictures almost every single day since – almost twenty years.

My photography is truly a journey through the immense diversity of life, from the smallest ant in the backyard to the magnificent elephants of Kenya and Tanzania. I have had the wonderful opportunity to photograph across Africa, Asia, just north of Antarctica, South and Central America, and my beloved Valley Forge National Park.  I try to share the beauty and spirit of these wild creatures and places, hoping to foster a deeper connection and reverence for nature.

Valley Forge

I have walked the fields and forests of Valley Forge National Park for the last twenty years.  It’s probably my favorite place on this earth.
